Flue-cured
We have three recognized varieties in the flue-cured type group : Hevesi 9, Hevesi 17 and Hevesi 19.
Before state recognition of new variety, the variety candidates are entered into a large scale field trials after breeding trials. The decision about the variety recognition is made on the basis of their (grower and industrial) performance in the field trials. At present Vj 22, Vj 23 and Vj 24 flue-cured variety candidates are included in field trials. The variety candidates have the same diesaese resistance as our currently recognized flue-cured varieties have, beside good yield potential, quality and curing characteristic.
The characteristics of flue-cured type varieties can be seed in the table below. The short description of the varieties can be found on the left hand side menu.
